Random Acts North and Leading Link are hosting a workshop for young people (aged 16-24) interested in applying to make a short film as part of the Random Acts training programme, which offers you the opportunity to have your film broadcast on Channel 4.
During the workshop you will learn techniques to help you generate your own short film idea and transform it into an ambitious 3 minute screenplay, as well as meet the team delivering Random Acts and get real advice on how to improve your chances of being commissioned.
We’re looking for young creatives with exciting ideas, so whatever your experience or background, if you think you have what it takes to make a Random Act then we want to hear from you - no previous filmmaking experience is necessary !
To find out more and apply visit www.randomactsnorth.org or watch previous Random Acts commissions at www.randomacts.channel4.com/
A local charity is tackling its biggest outdoor challenge to date, thanks to a huge funding boost from SITA Trust's Enhancing Communities Programme.
2nd April 2016 from 1pm - 5pm and lantern parade 7.00pm - 8.30pm
The young people of Leading Link have been working extremely hard together with professional artists to provide some permanent amazing art installations in Plessey Woods and we are nearly there! In partnership with NCC (Northumberland County Council) and with funding from the Sita Trust and the Foyer Federation, the young people have created pieces of eye-catching art such as a 6ft carved owl, willow wonderland and an imaginative environment for Hobbits and Fairies around a mile long adventure!
Come along on 2nd April to view the work in situ at our launch. In addition to the art, there will be live entertainment, activities for children and families and lantern making throughout the day. In the evening there will be a lantern parade at our 'Park in the Dark'.
