BBC School Report debate postponed
It is with regret that the BBC News School Report Question Time event at County Hall, Morpeth has been postponed until after the General Election.
Organisers Leading Link had arranged for the youth led event to involve three political parties (chosen by the students themselves) to discuss topics close to the student’s hearts. These included education in Northumberland, the environment and university fees.
In view of the pending election however, it was felt that the timings were wrong and the event will be rescheduled for the summer.
In place of the postponed event, local Wansbeck MP Ian Lavery will host a “Meet your MP’ evening exclusively for the students.
The evening will give the students an invaluable insight into the world of local politics and give them the opportunity to share their views and engage with a key decision maker in the region’s political arena.
