Community Chest funding for cinema
Leading Link are delighted to have received substantial funding from Northumberland County Council's Community Chest scheme towards The Big Outdoor Cinema.
The one-off open air screening, set to take place on Saturday June 20th at Attlee Park in Bedlington, has received a financial boost of £2000 from the council's funding award scheme.
The giant 8m x 4m inflatable screen will show the hit musical classic Grease, with hundreds of locals expected to dress up, come down and get involved on the evening.
Jonny Hall, Assistant Manager of Leading Link, said: "We are extremely grateful to Northumberland County Council for yet another show of support towards our events in Bedlington."
"The £2000 from the Community Chest allows us to cover our core costs for the cinema screening and offer a unique evening of entertainment to the people of this area for free."
Young volunteers from the charity are also working with the extremely talented Five Ring Circus group, thanks to funding from bait - part of the Creative People and Places programme.
The group will be entertaining crowds throughout the day at The Big Event 4, before putting on a show prior to the screening of Grease at 8pm.
Jonny added: "We are delighted to be extending our partnership with bait, which has helped to bring the arts alive for the young people that we work with, and their families, over the last couple of years."
"Both awards are the last piece of the jigsaw of what will be an incredible day of entertainment on Saturday."
